This site is targeted at those who may not be experts in the ERP arena but may be curious to find out what all the noise is about.Every week we'll rummage through the world wide web and bring you news and information about Oracle and PeopleSoft.

PeopleSoft is merged with Oracle and a new product Fusion is to be released by Oracle in the near future.

Oracle says Fusion will take the best aspects of the PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Oracle Applications and merge them into a new product suite.

Oracle is, however, offering to maintain support for the existing Oracle and PeopleSoft product lines for customers who wish to continue with what they have. The line they are taking appears to be an attempt to prevent customer defections to rival ERP vendors by making it attractive to retain current applications or move to Fusion when appropriate.

Here's the deal...My name's Onuora Amobi and I have worked with PeopleSoft products for approximately 11 years. I started out my PeopleSoft ride as a consultant with a Big Six (back then) consulting firm a long time ago.

Back then, PeopleSoft was on version 5.12. Financials (in particular, Accounts Payable and General Ledger) would receive patches every other week but the PeopleSoft family of consultants was a close (worldwide) community.

We had a blast, knew the best and worst firms, joked about PeopleSofties and knew what Sparky the dog really meant.

Well that was then, this is now.

Oracle has absorbed PeopleSoft but I for one refuse to stop writing about PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft is and was the easiest and most intuitive ERP package to learn. It was powerful, effective, easy and fun. For newbies to PeopleSoft or just for those who want to reminisce, this is the site for you.
